Areas

Areas allow you to organize your project into logical sections with distinct access control, navigation, and tailored data views. They provide a way to separate high-level modules (like an "Admin Panel" vs a "Customer Portal") within a single project.

Core Concepts

  • Logical Segregation: Group related collections and functions into dedicated workspaces.
  • Granular Access: Assign specific roles and authentication collections to each area.
  • Tailored Views: Customize how collections appear uniquely in different areas.

Feature Menu

Areas are configured through several specialized tabs:

  • General — Manage area identity, authentication, and collection visibility.
  • ACL — Define area-specific access control rules.
  • Menu — Customize the navigation sidebar for users in this area.
  • Theme — Tailor the visual appearance and branding.

Getting Started

To begin configuring your project structure, start with the General settings.

Features like Populate from User Session are now managed within each Area configuration to allow for more granular, area-specific control.
